Cold Facts

The perceived high cost of altering is not the problem, but the lack of education on its benefits. On average it costs approximately $100 to capture, house, feed and eventually kill a homeless animal - a cost that ultimately comes out of our pocket. Low cost spay/neuter services are far below that amount.

Congratulations on your decision to open your hearts and homes to a Rottweiler! The process of adopting and having a Rottie as your companion is no doubt one of the best experiences you will ever have. Rottweilers possess such a remarkable desire to love and adore their humans that to have one is a true blessing.

The Rottweiler Project is devoted to matching outstanding homes with an outstanding Rottweiler. It is imperative to us that it be a true match. What that means is we want to make sure that not only does the family seem to truly want to commit to their potential Rottweiler for his/her lifetime, but that the home also be a home that meets all of the needs of the dog they are interested in! Some dogs require more one on one time than others, some require more exercise, where some would just love a comfy couch to retire on! Whatever the case may be we want to ensure that all of our placements are successful and all dogs and humans alike end up enjoying a very happy ending.

Our process begins with the submittal of the adoption application. Upon receipt of your application, an adoption councilor will contact you. After the initial interview we will proceed with contacting your references and completing the screening process. The next step is a home visit (and we always do our best to bring the potential new family member!). If the dog does not attend the homevisit, then another arrangement may be made to have the family and dog meet. Should everyone agree that it is a true match, then you have just found the newest member of your family!

TRP will always be available for you and your adopted dog. We are here to support you through integration into your home, and throughout the dogs life we will always be happy to act as your guide. We have great experience with different behaviors as well as medical issues that Rottweilers may be prone to and our knowledge is always gladly shared. We want your experience with your Rottweiler to be as magical as our experiences have been.

You may either submit an application if there is a particular Rottweiler available that you are interested in, or if you would like to work with us to find you one that is just what you are looking for.

We wish you excellent luck on your search for a new companion and we hope to hear from you soon!
